Thank you Ben. I like seeing those two words together in a sentence. Peaceful and prosperity don’t have to be enemies even though our culture thinks otherwise.
Relishing a quiet moment with these words -- "trusting there is enough time to get it all done and still make room for an expansive exhale" and "More attention to the non-human memoirs composing themselves all around me." Deep delicious sigh. Thank you, friend. Cheering for you and unfixed in 2026💛✨
Dear Kimberly, yes 💛 “trusting there is enough time to get it all done and still make room for an expansive exhale”. And the things that didn’t get done, well, they weren’t needed anyway. Sending love for a peaceful and expansive year x
I chose the Koin Conversation and as always your presence, generosity of spirit and ability to translate, create from such a unique emotional palette is comforting, re-assuring in these or any times. May this year continue the exposure and triumph of Empress, your remarkable writing and their deep well of talent, to the world!! (and set aside time for the kiwi and apple and calendula harvesting lol)
Thank you friend. You always say the kindest, most encouraging things. How did I get so lucky to have you as a friend? My kiwi jamming continues, would you like a jar when it’s finished? I’d love to send you some green sunshine.
Here's to tending to those embers of aliveness! They need some air, some space, some quiet. I woke up Saturday with the words "stretching into," as in, stretching into the new, the fresh, the infinite, the unknown, the unfolding, the timeless, the field of possibility, stretching into endless being.
Love love love your commitment to taking things a bit slower. I too, have slowed my pace, both on Substack and in life. I’m also hoping to protect mornings and evenings from the digital world. May we enjoy our quiet time.
Also, hurray!!! for the ongoing success and promotion of your memoir! I’m so happy to see so many wonderful interviews and podcasts featuring you and your story, Kimberly. It’s truly heartening to see, friend. :)
Love the idea of those non-human memoirs unfolding around you! Also, I forwarded your email to a friend in Boulder, maybe she'll make it on Jan 20. If you come south to New Mexico please let me know!
Oh wonderful Allegra! Thank you! I do love New Mexico, all that spacious, terracotta warmth. A great place to envision those embers burning brightly. ❤️
All of this is fabulous. I’m so glad that your book and your marvelous self is being seen and read across the world. You are indeed a gift to all of us, both the fixed and unfixed.
Boy, your 2026 calendar is filling up fast. And what incredible events it holds. I hope you begin to reserve space for those ember days, perhaps a bright orange marker to hold the dates for creating life’s stories as they happen in realtime. Otherwise time flies by without those days of searching for unintentional magic. Wishing you a very happy 2026, my friend!
And a very happy 2026 to you dear one! I'm standing at my desk right now looking at a magical photo a very dear human printed out and then captioned with a "Dream Outloud." It sits on my desk now with all my other cherished bits, a felted Raisin (my childhood dog), a box of amber I sniff all day long because it smells like Mom, a jade amulet my bro gave me over thirty years ago when I set off for Europe on my own. Yup, now your words and kindness live on this altar of goodness too. (Though this is just an outward expression of the altar that already lives in my heart, of which you've taken residence on years ago.)
I do hope for many of those bright orange ember days and am guarding them with my life. I did a fun solstice-to-New Year ritual this year my friend Sara Connell shared. I never get into the resolutions and manifestation hoohah, but I got a wild hair and thought if nothing else, it will be fun. She told us to write down 12 wishes/dreams/desires for the new year on separate pieces of paper. Fold each one up and place in a special box or bag and then between the solstice and new year, every day pull one out and burn it without looking at it. On New Years Day you'll have one wish left, that's the one you open and read. She calls it the golden domino, and it will be the one to focus our intentions on the most for the entire year, and through that, all the others will also be activated. :)
I opened mine up and immediately was like, 'OH NO! THAT'S THE MOST BORING ONE OF ALL!" It said: To feel, speak, and own kind and healthy boundaries that serve my highest unfolding. The little girl is me was like, Wahhhhhh! I wanted the Guggenheim grant! Or the one where the natural world's voice becomes clearer in my writing! But then I realized... oh, this is the perfect one. Without healthy boundaries around my time and space, nothing else can come to fruition. All the noise and busyness and distraction and emails will take over and any other good fortunes that might occur will eventually only be burdens without nurturing spaciousness, quiet, and love. Most of all love. So here we are, me taking time to share with you just how much I love you. x
Oh good, it made it to Oregon! Mail has been slower than Yertle the Turtle, here in VT, I just assumed you might receive it by May. When I picked up the photo copy at the store, the woman behind the counter took my name, glanced inside the envelope for a moment and said; “this is an amazing photograph, ( she was the one that made the copy) everything about it is just wonderful” . So I told her I could not take credit for it, but of course had to explain where you were and what you were gazing up at! And then a quick plug for your book😊. I love the idea of 12 folded papers of wishes dreams and desires. May all 12 of yours, come true !
It's perfect. Alisa gets all the credit. Plus you for having the heart to print it out and share some fine words to encapsulate the moment. I laughed out loud when I learned my box of chocolates were mistaken for velcro. If only the world were stuck together with chocolates! How did your padded shoulder straps turns out? Let's just say I'm glad the velcro was for padded shoulder straps for your backpack and not 80s shoulder pads, which is where my mind went as soon as I read "padded shoulder."
Can't wait until you visit a town near me! Ted, Tucson AZ. Have you ever heard about the "Tucson Book Frstival" really a big deal for a small town. Love..
"I hope you cup those glowing embers and blow on them gently—holding intention, willfulness, and exhale in careful balance." That is just beautiful and I really, really hope you are listening to your own words dear Kim, you have quite a schedule there already!
I know well how easy it is to be side-tracked by saying 'yes' because we want to be kind and not disappoint until all of a sudden the weight of all the 'yeses' is too much and we are left spiralling with no wings and no net to catch us not even daring to open our eyes to see where best to land again!
May your paces be soft in all the spaces in between, you memoire continue to shine — I am still so excited for you! With love dear one — always xx
Here’s to a peaceful and prosperous 2026 and more unfixed goodness.
Thank you Ben. I like seeing those two words together in a sentence. Peaceful and prosperity don’t have to be enemies even though our culture thinks otherwise.
Also, lived the Koin conversation!
Those photos. That light!
Kimberly, what a joy to see all of this. What magic! What a magician. 💕❤️💕

that was almost as complex distributiom as the delsyed overseas "Unfixed" roll out 🤣
Ohhhh I forgot about that! Well, I’ll email you when I’m done and we’ll see if we can figure something out. ;)
😊👌

Beautiful Dawn. Stretching into, like an exhale, acknowledges relation and invites warmth to come and play.

Right back you to you. That’s the beautiful thing about love…it boomerangs!
Wowza. If only I had your marketing skills. Simply FAB, Kimberly!
Can’t take any credit. The wonderful Lisa Hill has been helping with PR at Empress and she’s INCREDIBLE. ❤️

I haven’t! But thanks for putting it in my radar Ted.:)
To attend, allow,
listen, learn, try, trust, breathe, be.
“Expansive exhale”~~~
All my favorite words. ❤️
Wishing you many blessings in this new year. I’ve marked May 2 on my calendar. I love storytelling events. ☺️💕
