Not knowing this beautiful song I have just listened to a recording of the Hermit Thrush and I am indeed untangled! Thank you for calming a day that was anything but dear Kimberly xx
I have just double checked to be sure, apparently they do frequent France but I have never recorded one here in the Aveyron, we have an abundance of Mistle and Song thrush and of course the blackbird which is the same family - now I want to find a Hermit Thrush and Davids Swianson thrush too which is also present.
These words floated across the internet to sit palpably in my body. They made me thankful for the internet, and you, because without both of those things I would never have found these words. Bless you.
God, that is beautiful. Brought me a moment’s calm. Thank you! ❤️🙏
You always come through with the best poems, Kimberly. Thanks for sharing :)
Stunning. This was a bundle of calm I needed at the end of a very long day. ❤️🔥
So glad Jenovia. I love finding poetry to share over here once a month. Feels like an exhale for everyone.
so much wisdom in this. 💕🙏 🪶
"... using your body to sing."
That's the challenge, if you don't happen to be a bird.
😂 But so fun to imagineer our way into it!
Stunning!
"I listen, freeing myself
from the tangled roots of a pain
that’s not my own,"

Do you not have Hermit Thrushes in your valley? They are abundant here in the Pacific Northwest. Always a balm to frayed nerves.

PS - the light in that photo.. 💛
“I listen, freeing myself
from the tangled roots of a pain
that’s not my own.”
“Let go of all that you no longer need.
This is how you heal, using your body to sing.”
I can feel a tune stirring. Love this poem. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

You’re so welcome Donna. So many poetry treasures, I breathe more deeply when I’ve landed upon one I need to share.
Beautiful, Kimberly! Thank you for sharing.
“their music made more precious by the silence
surrounding it”
Gorgeous. I'm reminded of Thoreau's "Walking" - and one of my favorite passages, which you've inspired me to post. 💜
I'll drink my matcha latte to that: "Let go of all that you no longer need".
Absolute moment of calm.
Beautiful. X
Breathtaking. This may be the most perfect poem I've read all year. Like a warm bath of words. Love it. 🙏
